The 4F27E transaxle is a fully electronic controlled unit specific to the Ford Focus. ( Developed along with Mazda, the 4F27E is extremely similar to the Protege's FN4A-EL) When modified it has proved to be quite strong, and helps control traction issues of powerful FWD Foci.
